Review:

An adaptation of the book by Meg Rosoff, How I Live Now is an intense and beautifully depicted story of a young girl's fight for love. Saoirse Ronan delivers yet another stellar performance as Daisy, who comes to England in the midst of an imminent war. Rejected by her father and forced to live with her cousins, Daisy is unhappy and unsure of her place in life. Then she meets Edmond (George Mackay). Handsome and mysterious, Eddie intrigues her like no one else and they have an immediate connection. With a little persuasion from Eddie and her other cousins Daisy steps out of her comfort zone, puts the voices in her head away and finally dares to dream of a future she never thought was possible for her.

However, a nuclear explosion in London destroys their countryside sanctuary. Britain turns into a military state and Daisy is soon separated from Edmond and her new-found solace.

Finding her way back becomes Daisy's ultimate goal. With her younger cousin Piper (Harley Bird) by her side she sets out to beat the odds and make her way back to Eddie. The road home is a fight for survival and she is forced to make decisions to protect the ones she loves and reunite with her true love. But can she get it all back? It is a story of survival and hope. It will have you at the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more.
