Mary and the Witch's Flower

Mary is just a regular girl, spending a week in her new home before school starts, until something strange and wonderful happens. She takes a shortcut through the woods, picks an unusual-looking flower, and suddenly discovers she has magical powers! A broom then flies her up into the sky to Endor College, one of the most prestigious schools for witchcraft. However, nothing is quite what it seems, and she ends up having to fight to save the flowers from being used to fuel a dangerous experiment…

As you might expect from a film by the director of The Secret World of Arrietty and When Marnie Was There, and with the animator from Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, this is simply stunning! Those trained in Studio Ghibli are as artful as ever in creating a mad and imaginative world, this time upon our own doorstep. (Endor College is part steam-punk school of sorcery part Japanese Hogwarts.)
