Review:

An ex-FBI negotiator, Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson - Jumanji 2, Fast & Furious) has spent the last three months undertaking a security assessment for the Pearl, the latest innovation of millionaire Zhao Long Ji (Chin Han - Batman: Dark Knight). The Pearl is the most advanced superstructure in the world, and supports the latest in security technology. Though the commercial floors at the bottom have been open for months, currently only Zhao, and Will’s family, live on the residential floors at the very top.

However, a gang of criminals break into the building and set it ablaze, trapping Will's family inside and making Will a scapegoat in the process. Having spent the last three months inspecting every square inch of the Pearl, there is no one more qualified to save his family, though Will’s having to evade capture by the police, and time is running out fast…

Dwayne Johnson as always, has fantastic screen presence, and the film is watchable for this alone. However, the film is creative with its vision of 360-degree holographic technology; use of duct tape; Will’s tactics to overcome the fire and criminals; and the fight scenes involving his prosthetic leg!
