Review:

It was just a few weeks ago when Stephanie (Anna Kendrick – Scott Pilgrim, Pitch Perfect) first met Emily (Blake Lively – Gossip Girl). It’s fair to say that she was somewhat in awe of this confident, fascinating, and effortlessly chic woman. Stephanie was the complete opposite, but their sons brought them together and the two hit it off straightaway and shared cocktails while their kids shared playdates…

Out of the blue, Emily calls Stephanie and asks her to come over, for a simple favour, pick up her son after school, but by the time she’s driven him home, Emily is gone. 5 days later not a trace, not a word. Stephanie starts delivering flyers, campaigning online using her blog, and even desperately going through Emily’s possessions to find some clue as to where she might have gone. The deeper she digs, the more questions arise, and the more she wonders how much she really knows about Emily…

This clever and stylish thriller, based on the novel by Darcey Bell, delivers betrayals, reversals, and revelations to keep you guessing till the end. While providing laughs with her usual charm and self-effacing humour, Anna Kendrick steals the show and proves that she has no problem being dramatic as well as funny.
