Review:

Ryan Phillippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar. play bickering step-siblings who, together, quietly control much of the social lives of the students in an affluent New York prep school.

Phillippe's Sebastian sees himself as a kind of Don Juan, who always gets his woman, while Gellar's Katherine would rather enact revenge on ex-flames and corrupt incoming freshmen.

One day, Kathryn and Sebastian, driven by a mutual lust for each other and a love of messing with innocent young people's lives, hatch a nefarious plan, and place a kind of bet. Sebastian is to woo and bed the daughter of the new headmaster, Annette (Reese Witherspoon).

What's at stake, well, Katherine stands to gain Sebastian's much adored, classic Jag. While if he succeeds to bed Witherspoon, he then gets to have his way with Gellar.

The Challenge is that Annette is a very adamant virgin with plans to "wait until marriage". The trouble for Sebastian is that for the first time in his life, he falls for the girl. Annette's gentle nature couldn't t fail to move him.

The story is a great update of "Dangerous Liaisons," with a perfect mix of satire, wit, and drama. Writer Roger Kumble certainly has a sick sense of humour, and I applaud him for that.

This is the most beautiful, wicked film since "Wild Things," and though that may not impress seine people, 1 thought it was incredible.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is a stunning actress, and portrays Kathryn extremely well. Her character is evil and cunning, and is delivered with such grace and perfection...

Ryan Phillippe is excellent as well, and lie portrays Sebastian Valmont with as much talent as the lovely Ms. Gellar. They work very well together, as they did in their last movie together, "I Know What You Did Last Summer"

Reese Witherspoon gives a nice performance as well, and Selma Blair's acting is worthy of much recognition.
