Review:

Based on a comic strip, "The Crow" is an all-action, fast paced adventure movie with some of the best action set-pieces of recent cinema history, in which our hero returns from the dead to avenge his and his girlfriend's killers.

More noticable famous for being the film on which Brandon Lee was shot dead whilst filming a gun battle, The Crow, underneath it's violent exterior, is fundamentally a love-story between the hero Eric Draven (Lee) and Shelly (Sofia Shinas).

The story is set in an unnamed inner city, and starts on a Halloween night, when Draven and his girlfriend are violently attacked by four gang heavies.

The surrealism of the plot then kicks into gear, when Draven is brought back from the dead one year later by a crow. Now invulnerable, Draven proceeds to track down his killers, and seek revenge for his murder and the rape and death of his girlfriend.

This is the cue for some seriously excellent action scenes and special effects, plus some amazing make-up to add the comic-book echoes to the movie.

Without giving too much of the plot away, Draven achieves his justice, in his own, dynamic and unique way, leading to an ending which is really pretty special...

Dark, stylish, loud and agressive, with a sound track ready to blast you in your seats; The Crow offers the best of Hollywood; and more.
