Review:

Make sure you eat some dinner before coming to see Tampopo because even the least hungry person in the world will find their mouth watering by the end of it. Two truckers pull up to a ramen bar in the middle of nowhere, run by a single mother struggling to stay afloat, and dissatisfied with her ramen, they vow to help her become a great chef and run a successful business. Frequently diverted to focus on delicious food and the magical craft of preparing it, Tampopo is a feast for the eyes and for the soul. Described as a “ramen western,” the film swaps cowboys protective of their land for ramen chefs protective of their recipes. Ditch your instant noodles and come learn the craft of exquisite broth and perfectly timed boiling because watching Tampopo is like discovering a delicious meal for the first time, nothing will ever taste as good again.
