One of the most celebrated of Walt Disney's classics, One Hundred and One Dalmations stands out particularly for perhaps one of Disney's most vividly characterised villianess; the foul fiend(ess) herself - Cruella De Vil.
For those unfamiliar with the plotline, the story follows the lives of two dalmations, Pongo and Perdita whose cosy domesticity is hit for six when their fifteen puppies are stolen by the evil Cruela, who's a big fan of dalmations - especially when they're turned into fur coats! (Boo, hiss - Ed.)
The story follows their quest to rescue their puppies, and foil the plans of Cruela, during which they discover more than they bargained for! (See the title if you're wondering...)
Naturally, placing all of this in the Disney context, with some damn good songs and the obligatory cuteness (Aaaahh... - Ed.) and you have a film adaptation worthy of the extremely talented Dodie Smith's book, from which the entire story is based.
At heart, a good old battle of good versus evil, One Hundred and One is a definite must to see on the big screen for any Disney fan. And for the lads, the girls all lurve Disney films!
