Review:

Deep in the oceans, something lurks…

Five years ago, while in charge of a submarine near the Mariana Trench, Captain Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham – Fast & Furious, Expendables) was forced to abandon ship… and some of the crew. Though adamant that they were attacked by a megalodon - a 70-foot shark thought to have been extinct for over two million years - no one believed him…

Fast-forward to the present day and Mana One Research Station is the most advanced deep-sea research facility in the world. After millions upon millions of dollars of investment, they are finally ready to launch the submersible and survey the unexplored recesses of the Mariana Trench. However, the last thing the base hears before all contact with the crew is lost, is that they are being attacked by a giant creature! They only have so much oxygen and their best hope of survival is Jonas, but he’s sworn never to go back in the water…

This film delivers everything you could want from an underwater disaster movie with Jason Statham: action, suspense, stoically delivered one-liners and fantastically over-sized aquatic life. If you ever wanted to see The Stath take on a giant shark with his bare hands, this is definitely the film for you!
