Be Cool

John Travolta and Danny DeVito return to head an all-star cast in this sequel to 1995’s Get Shorty. They are joined by Uma Thurman, who was personally recruited by Travolta, in an attempt to re-create their chemistry from Pulp Fiction all over again, and it’s great to see the duo back together.

The story revolves around Chili Palmer (Travolta) a loan-shark turned movie producer, who then turns his attention to the music business in search of new film ideas. Thurman plays a widow who takes over her husband’s record business and finds herself in partnership with Palmer. However, the path to success is complicated by Russian gangsters, organised crime investigators, and wannabe actors and musicians including a gay bodyguard who wants to be a singer.

Despite not quite matching up to the original, ten years on this star-studded sequel certainly lives up to its name.
