Review:

From the imagination of George Lucas comes the biggest film franchise in history. Adored by those who saw it first time around and kids today alike, the Star Wars films are some of the most popular and Episode III one of the most anticipated films ever created.

The age-old conflict between good and evil is played out in a galaxy far, far away between Jedi Knights and the agents of the Dark Side. Episodes I, II and III trace the life of Darth Vader from his childhood as Anakin Skywalker through his relationship with his master Obi Wan Kenobi (McGregor), to falling in love with Padmé Amidala (Portman), suffering the loss of his mother and the ultimate temptation to cross over to the Dark Side, revealed in Episode III in heart-wrenching circumstances. A New Hope sees the simple farm boy Luke Skywalker (Hamil) join forces with the droids R2D2 and C3PO, a reckless pilot Han Solo (Ford) and under the tutelage of Ben Kenobi (Guinness) learn the way of the force. Together they embark on a dangerous mission to rescue Princess Leia (Fisher) and ultimately launch an assault on the Death Star. Continuing with the story in The Empire Strikes Back, Luke travels to Dagobah to train under the exiled master Jedi, Yoda before being lured into a duel with the terrifying Darth Vader in order to rescue his friends, where he learns a family secret. In Return of the Jedi, Han Solo and Princess Leia are held captive by the gross Jabba the Hut but in order to rescue them, Luke must face Darth Vader for a final time, who has sworn to bring him over to the Dark Side.

There aren't enough words to go into both the intricacies of the plot and why it is so good. Episodes I and II were criticised when they were released, as has been the general dialogue and acting of some of the characters. However, all is forgiven with Revenge of the Sith and the opportunity to see them all back-to-back on the big screen cannot be missed.
