Boy meets girl. Boy proposes to girl. Boy marries girl. And they live happily ever after. Or not. This is definitely the case for Eddie Cantrow, who falls for the wrong girl and hastily marries her due to pressures from his father and friends. The whirlwind romance seemed to be going well until the road trip honeymoon turns his perfect bride into a tequila-addicted, annoying nightmare. A marriage to work on perhaps? But why work on it if your potential soul-mate is only round the corner?

From the directors who brought you Shallow Hal and Me, Myself & Irene, here’s another classic comedy to have you wetting yourselves. But of course this is expected when the protagonist is none other than the much loved actor that is Ben Stiller. Teaming up with these directors again after the long-lived success of There’s something about Mary was definitely a good move. Especially with the added bonus of the legend himself that is Frank Stiller, Ben’s father, who himself is a comic genius in his well-known role as Frank Constanza in Seinfeld, or, more recently, Arthur Spooner in comedy series King of Queens. The two female stars that work along them are surprisingly not overshadowed by the big names in Hollywood. Malin Akerman playing Lila (perfect bride turned nightmare) is a gem. The physical humour she brings to the role is the ideal contrast to her what would be gorgeous, aesthetic appearance. Michelle Monaghan’s role is quite a bit more quaint, but she plays her role as Miranda (the potential soul-mate) in a charming and sweet way, making for an adorable character.

If you thought you liked the traditional rom-coms, get ready for your typical formula to get messed up. This is unexpectedly far more raunchier and hilarious than you ever will imagine.
