American Pie

The basic plot of this story, is the attempt of 4 high school lads to lose their virginity, and they want to do it by prom night.

We have Jim (Biggs), whose attempt to seduce the foreign exchange student Nadia (Elizabeth), hilariously backfires when he broadcasts the entire event on the net. He also has an unusual love of home baked goods.

Then there's Chris or Oz (Kiein) who, in an attempt to score with Heather, joins the choir; a far cry from the lacrosse playing jock we all believe him to be.

And then we have Kevin who has a steady girlfriend, Vicky (Tara Reid). He too wants to please her and is given 'The Bible' - a handed down guide to sex: what to do and what not to. Finally we have Finch, who seems very popular with the ladies. Who knows what to believe? One thing's for sure; he gets quite friendly with Stifier's mother at the after prom party.

This film is unbelievably crude, which is part of its appeal. I hate to do it but I'm going to have to compare the level of humour to that in "There's Something About Mary." I don't think there was a time when 1 wasn't laughing, in places almost to the point of tears.

As my house mate said; "it's a brilliant film, but one you don't want girls to see 'cos it's just so true."
