Rambo
It Ain't Over 'till It's Over.
Director: Sylvester Stallone
Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Julie Benz, Matthew Marsden, Graham McTavish
After 20 years, we see the return of John James Rambo, Vietnam War veteran, a master of weaponry and hand-to-hand combat. Life has calmed down for Rambo and he now prefers to live his own secluded simple life, but trouble finds him in the form of Christian Human Right Missionaries who seek his help to bring peace to the murderous war zone that is Burma. Rambo knows the whole idea is ludicrous and is not surprised to find himself caught up once more in a world where you have to kill in order to survive…
Stallone is John Rambo. Directing and starring again in one of his most acclaimed roles following the success of Rocky Balboa, Stallone reminds us of the utter awe we once felt watching him overcome death-defying ordeals as the character created by David Morell. And he’s still got it. He pulls off the character just as well as he always has and is believable as the more reserved side of his former self in the role.
As is expected, there is loads of action pumped out onto the screens to have your heart racing. Some of the gorier scenes are so graphic that once you’ve come out from hiding under your coat, you have to applaud Stallone’s success in making the film fit in with the contemporary special effects of our day, although still remaining true to the initial concept. Although there were many scripts considered, the story finally produced is one worthy of our attention.
Now banned in Myanmar (formerly Burma), this was one of the hot items for bootlegging so get your foot in the door and see it legally! It is definitely worthy of all the attention and hype around it and will not fail to disappoint the die hard fans who expect nothing but the best!
