Review:

Jigsaw may be dead but his work is still alive. Who would have thought the perpetrator was a cop? Can agent Strahm finally put all the pieces together and reveal Hoffman? What about the five missing people? Who are they? How are they connected? Better yet, will they survive? Can anyone ever truly survive? Prepare to have your questions answered in this gruesome fifth instalment.

It’s true. You definitely will not believe how it ends. Fans of the franchise will be shocked at the revelations brought about in the newest horror presented by David Hackl. There will be many shouts of ‘Oh yeah, forgot about that’ and get ready to have your minds tested as you try and figure out why Hoffman is ‘deservingly punishing’ five new faces under the instruction of the his deceased master. The film presents more flashbacks than the others and reminds us of what has happened to date so it won’t be hard for new viewers to pick up the general idea. Satisfyingly, it’s just as spine-chilling as can be expected and the traps just as clever and as difficult to work out.

Interestingly enough, is the development of the characters Agent Strahm (Patterson) and Detective Hoffman (Mandylor) whose pasts we learn more about. You find that some pasts can be even more shocking than that of Jigsaw’s doing. Jill (Jigsaw’s wife) is also brought back into the picture, bringing with her another mystery altogether in the form of a seemingly, uninteresting box…

Another one to have you grabbing on to your seats or onto each other, Saw 5 will sever all pre-conceived misconceptions and silence you once and for all…
