Review:

She is beauty, she is grace, she is Sandra Bullock starring as FBI Agent Gracie Hart. An anonymous bomber threatens the Miss United States pageant and it’s the job of alter-ego Gracie Lou Freebush to take them down from the inside in a display of brains, brawn, and beauty. We watch as tomboy Gracie receives a classic 2000’s makeover (orchestrated by a gay Michael Caine in one of my favourite roles of his) from boyish slob into sophisticated pageant girl. Gracie and her stubborn demeanour not only learn about the world of beauty pageants, but also the beauty behind true female friendship (and, of course, world peace). What chick-flick wouldn’t be complete without our leading lady (not so) unexpectedly finding love despite her head-strong loner façade?

Miss congeniality serves comedy, romance, and feminism, creating a real must-see - if you somehow haven’t already. There are plenty of iconic moments to come out of this film, tying together the perfect watch of girls, glamour, and guns. Afterall, you can’t spell Miss Congeniality without lit.
