Review:

The sequel to the much loved Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers, this newest instalment is packed full with the one-liners and cringe-worthy moments we all loved from the original. The Focker family now have two young additions to their clan and Greg (Stiller) is even starting to feature in the good books of his hard-to-please, Father-in-Law, Jack (De Niro). But with finances running low, a good looking medical rep (Alba) enticing him and his wife’s perfect ex-partner, Kevin (Wilson) back on the scene, Greg is soon finding his way back up the blacklist. Will he ever truly impress paranoid Jack and finally become the Godfocker?

There are a lot of smiles to be had watching the dynamics between DeNiro and Stiller once again; although it’s sometimes difficult to remember they are two fully grown adults with Jack’s slightly bullying nature and Greg still so eager to please. Bringing back Wilson’s annoying ex-lover character and the legends that are Hoffman and Streisand as parents was a good idea to mix in; ensuring the stories from the preceding films are not lost.

Jessica Alba’s new character is a welcome addition, with a shameful drunken scenario making Alba seem less like the straight-and-narrow actress one might have believed her to be. The kids allow for a whole new realm of jokes to be had and the term ‘impressionable age’ is clearly the focus of it.

There are some truly classic laugh-out-loud moments to watch out for in this one so prepare once more to enter the ‘circle of trust’!
