I remember watching Tangled in the cinema back in 2011, and enjoying it so much that my parents bought me the DVD so I could rewatch it to my heart's content. From catchy original songs and lovable characters to an inventive and enchanting story, Tangled really is the full package. The animation is beautiful, especially for its age, with a vibrant colour scheme that fits the film perfectly. I feel that I must mention the iconic lantern scene which I could watch over and over without getting bored, and is sure to make any watcher emotional. Mother Gothel is one of the best Disney Villains because she feels so realistic, her tactics of manipulation are much more terrifying than a spell or any poisoned apple. Rapunzel and Flynn's relationship feels genuine, due to wonderful voice acting that really portrays the characters' personalities. Their playful dynamic balances each other perfectly. Flynn really set standards high for young girls and his charm works on me just as well now as it did when I was 6. Although it sticks to the usual Disney clichés, Tangled stands out due to its unique wit, heart, and hilarious sidekicks. No matter whether this is your first watch or fifth, this film is sure to give you a well needed serotonin boost to combat those end of term blues. It is definitely safe to say that Tangled has stood the test of time, and in my opinion, holds the spot for the best Disney princess film (sorry Frozen)!

Walt Disney Pictures presents "Tangled," one of the most hilarious, hair-raising tales ever told! After receiving healing powers from a magical flower, the baby Princess Rapunzel (Moore) is kidnapped from the palace in the middle of the night by Mother Gothel (Murphy). Gothel knows that the flower's magical powers are now growing within Rapunzel’s golden hair; hence to stay young she must lock Rapunzel in her hidden tower. Gothel raises Rapunzel as her own daughter.
Meanwhile, the king and queen are pining for their lost daughter and let loose thousands of floating lanterns every year on her birthday. Rapunzel sees these lanterns from her window every year and is fascinated by the “floating lights” in the sky. Today at 16, Rapunzel’s hair has grown to a length of 70 feet! As her birthday gift, all she wants is to leave the tower and see the lights up close. But that’s not going to happen on Gothel’s watch.
The story takes a turnaround when a bandit Flynn Ryder (Levi) scales the tower and is taken captive by the feisty Rapunzel! A deal is struck between the two; Rapunzel wants Flynn to show her the floating lights and Flynn wants his stolen tiara back. And so starts the action-packed rollercoaster ride of their journey towards the kingdom, involving a gruff gang of pub thugs (who turn out to be a bunch of dreamers!), an overprotective chameleon and a super-cop horse who’s smarter than a king’s entire army. Oh, and hair! Lots and lots of hair!
So, let the adventure begin!
