Haywire
They Left Her No Choice
A highly trained black ops soldier (Carano) is a hired-weapon for covert jobs, doing the deeds no Government can authorize. After a botched rescue mission she finds herself double-crossed and left to seek revenge on those who have made her the target of an international man-hunt.
The film promotes a highly kinetic story along with a heap of stars. Soderbergh never disappoints when it comes to gathering a cast for his films – the Ocean’s trilogy, Contagion and Traffic, being some examples. Haywire stars a new-comer (Gina Carano) supported by an array of international talent. It is often mind-boggling to imagine how the director assembles such a variety of well-known actors but looking at Haywire the answer is clear: he has a wonderful knack for entertaining audiences.
Soderbergh is a directing-chameleon, moving from dramatic projects to comedies to action flicks without a hint of difficulty. Haywire finds him working with the latter genre and noticeably having a ball doing so. Haywire is filled with amazing stunt work, nail-biting chase sequences and thrilling action set-pieces. Along with all the brawl of a Hollywood action movie, Haywire also has the brains; the story filled with issues of ethics, trust and political agendas.
If you’re looking for a gripping film to satisfy your cinematic needs then look no further. With an Oscar-winning director, an ensemble of highly regarded actors and a kick-ass lead, Haywire is the perfect big-screen experience.
