Premium Rush
As many students know, getting to work by bike can be a hazardous affair with crazed drivers, fool hardy pedestrians and animals with a death wish. However Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has to contend with this, mysterious envelopes and killer cop Bobby Monday (Michael Shannon) all in a chase through New York City.
Written and directed by David Koepp this film doesn’t miss a beat and is just as gripping as any past film he has written such as Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible or Spider-Man. Levitt and Shannon play well off each other giving real substance to the film which might otherwise be seen as a traditional chase movie.
Despite what may seem at first glance a slightly ludicrous premise for a film, Koepp draws all the individual elements together and creates something which is not just enjoyable but also a genuinely good film. With twists and turns throughout the film, you are honestly left on the edge of your seat with some near misses that will make you think twice before getting back on your bike.
