Review:

Recently promoted to GNN - a 24 hour news channel in the great metropolis of New York; married to Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), the best looking newsreader on the air (after himself, of course); it's hard to see how things could get any better for TV legend, Ron Burgundy.

Having only just changed to accept a woman can read the news, now Ron has to accept a boss who is both female AND black, Linda Johnson (Meagan Good). Even worse, Ron has always been the unquestioned king of the newsroom, but now Jack Blime (James Marsden) 'a prince among men' looks like he can give Ron a run for his money! There are no lengths Ron won't seek to one-up Jack: no trick is too low; no lie is too huge; no prank too stupid.

By far the best laugh-out loud scene is when Ron goes to meet Linda's family and tries to break down the barriers of race. The film makes the most of the fish-out-of-water scenario and Ron's complete lack of tact, social awareness and cultural sensitivity. In true Ron-style, the more he tries to dig himself out, the more he just makes things worse, with truly hilarious results.

The film has a strong cast throughout. Steve Carrell returns as Brick Tamlind, the lovable fool, who finally meets his match in the inimitable idiot savant (minus the savant) Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids; Despicable Me). And last but by no means least, Vince Vaughan really shines while reprising his role as Wes Mantooth.

So come and enjoy Anchorman 2 - studies have shown that 66% of the time, it's 100% hilarious!
