Everyone loves a happy ending.
PORN. Got your attention? Don Jon goes to clubs, meets women and has an active sex life, yet continually finds himself preferring porn to the real thing. One night he meets Barbara Sugarman and they hit it off right away and start dating, but Jon still remains unsatisfied whilst having to conform to the traditional idea of courtship. By meeting two different women, his girlfriend and a fellow night-class student, he learns some larger lessons in life and love, and one to make him a happier person.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in, writes and directs this fun film with a genuine thought-provoking undertone. Based loosely on the legend of Don Juan, a man famous for seducing any woman he wanted, this tale is brought up to date and turned into a brilliant comedy drama. It tackles the problem that men have preconceptions about sex after watching porn, and the parallel to women having preconceptions about love after watching a multitude of Rom-Coms. Don Jon had a very positive reception at the Sundance Film Festival and from many critics afterwards. With the likes of supporting roles played by Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers, Hitchcock), Julianne Moore (The Kids Are All Right) and Tony Danza (Crash), this film will ensure you have a good night out.
