Mood Indigo
Colin (Romain Duris) is a wealthy, inventive bachelor who falls in love with a girl named Chloé (Audrey Tautou) and endeavours to help find a cure for an illness that afflicts her, caused by a flower growing in her lungs.
This film is quirky and full of surreal visual effects that make it a true feast for the eyes. A melancholic feel to the story develops in the latter half, making for a touching ending. It is a strong adaptation of the source material and captures the feel perfectly, helped by the cast full of strong performances that will draw you into this world. The music is quaint, perfectly suiting, and serves only to add to the atmosphere. It’s manic, it’s weird and it’s very charming – simply put, it’s a wonderful fantasy world that you’ll be pleased to visit.
