Night Moves
Three radical environmentalists – Josh (Jesse Eisenberg), Dena (Dakota Fanning) and Harmon (Peter Sarsgaard) – come together to execute a daring plan: the destruction of a controversial hydroelectric dam. But after witnessing the fallout of this event, they find their personal limits tested as they descend into doubt, paranoia and a mass of unintended consequences.
This film is tense and engaging. The very definition of a slow burner, Night Moves builds to the big event and grips you from then on. The three leads deliver, holding onto your attention and conveying the moral dilemmas the characters face very convincingly. This film propounds a number of interesting questions, ecologically and morally, and will get you thinking whilst remaining ambiguous itself. It is an intelligent and suspenseful thriller, and worth a watch.
