Mr. Turner
Following the final few decades of his life, Mr Turner , is an enthralling film that opens a window into Turner’s life, his often strained interactions with his family and the art world of 1850s London.
Timothy Spall leads a great cast (Paul Jesson, Dorothy Atkinson), giving an immense performance as the artist. Despite often simply grunting his way through conversations, he manages to create a complex and truly engaging character.
Mr Turner is beautiful to watch, with many gorgeous shots of the English countryside, but it is also surprisingly funny and consistently brilliant; definitely not one to miss.
