Annie

After a tough start to life, Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) is suddenly taken away from her foster carer, the rather promiscuous Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz), to live with the stern billionaire Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) with the aim of making him seem more “personable” to further his chances of becoming Mayor. He sees himself as Annie’s “guardian angel” but really, Annie might just be the one to save him.

This modern remake remains largely true to the original plotline of the young orphan girl but with a more progressive outlook. So if you’re finding term two blues are getting you down, this new Annie boasts a catchy new soundtrack but with all the old favourites.
