Into the Woods

Into the Woods is Disney’s latest venture into the world of fairytale, blending together several of the original Brothers Grimm stories.

Rendered childless by the curse of a witch (Meryl Streep), a baker (James Cordon) and his wife (Emily Blunt) search the forest for the ingredients to reverse the spell. Whilst looking for a milk-white cow, corn-yellow hair, a blood-red cape, and a golden slipper (all sounding vaguely familiar?), they meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack, all with their own quests to fulfill.

It’s a funny and warm-hearted musical, but not without its darker twists and turns, that provides a change to the well-worn portrayal of the fairy tale.
