Blackhat
We are no longer in control.
After serving a 15 year prison sentence, MIT trained genius coder Nick Hathaway (Hemsworth) is recruited by the government to capture the cyber-hacker behind a succession of terrorist attacks. In a chase spanning the globe; tension and excitement forcefully drive the film’s narrative with fast paced cinematography footage of the furloughed convict and his Chinese and American partners.
One of the main pull-factors of the film is the anonymity of the rival hacker who strays from the normal terrorist conventions of making money or committing politically-motivated crimes. Instead, there is a more personal reasoning behind the attacks. The unravelling of the truth and pressure of the chase make Blackhat’s original content one of the film’s main assets.
Starring Chris Hemsworth alongside Viola Davis and Wei Tang, Blackhat is four-time Academy Award nominee Michael Mann’s first film shot entirely in a digital format and it’s action filled plot ensures for a gripping viewing.
