The Interview
The film they didn't want you to see.
When David Skylark (James Franco), a celebrity TV host, and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) land the biggest interview of their careers, all appears to be going well for them. Apart from the fact that their star interviewee is none other than the infamous North Korean President Kim Jong Un. With Kim Jong top of the CIA’s most wanted Skylark and Rapoport are recruited as makeshift assassins. Chaos ensues.
The premise of the plot may sound simple but the controversy it has elicited made headlines all over the world, with Barack Obama weighing in with his opinion after the premiere of the film was cancelled because of terrorist threats. However, the film is not just a symbol of freedom from censorship. It also contains genuinely laugh out loud moments and is notable for Randall Park’s critically acclaimed portrayal of the world strangest dictator. Part political symbol, part majestically mad comedy, this film is a must see!
