Run All Night

This sins-of-the-father revenge thriller stars Liam Neeson as a mob hitman, Jimmy Conlon (better known as ‘The Gravedigger’), who is best of friends with his boss, Shawn Maguire (the always watchable Ed Harris). But after Jimmy’s son is marked for best by the mob, Jimmy must go up against Maguire to protect his boy at all costs. The two of them must avoid mobsters and crooked cops and attempt to survive the night.

Anyone who has seen a Neeson thriller knows exactly what to expect, but in case you haven’t been so lucky, we’ll see violence and action, in this case bolstered by a fairly impressive cast, with two cinema heavyweights playing the leads. It is gritty but fun, well-shot and well worth watching – it may be the best of Neeson’s action work yet.
