The DUFF
Review:
Frumpy high school senior Bianca (Mae Whitman) suffers a rude awakening after learning that she has been termed the DUFF – designated ugly fat friend – by her prettier and popular friends. Desperate to reinvent herself, she enlists the aid of a charming jock, needing to find the confidence to overthrow a judgemental student (Bella Thorne) and revolutionize the school’s social pecking order. The DUFF is both hilarious and relatable, with all the clichés of teen movies on show, but updated for a new generation. It is light-hearted and fun – an entertaining movie, and well worth a watch.
