Review:

A Danish documentary focusing on a man whose brother was brutally murdered during the during the 1965 purge in Indonesia after he was accused of being a communist. The brother of the murdered man visits some of the killers who carried out these atrocities not only towards his own brother but to many others. Under the pretence of needing an eye examination, he interviews the killers to find out the truth about what happened to his brother. In order to protect him, the man is never fully identified and is credited with the name anonymous.

This film was nominated for Academy Award for Best Document Picture and is seen by many as the companion film to ‘the killing fields’. Brutal and heart-wrenching, this is a documentary which you won’t want to miss.
