Review:

Astonishingly based on a true story, The Walk is about one high wire artist’s daredevil dream. Back in 1973, French street performer Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is struggling to make ends meet in Paris. His childhood dream was always to amaze crowds with daring high-wire stunts and he decides to fulfil this dream in the most dramatic way possible: a tightrope walk between the North and South towers of the World Trade Centre.

Working with his mentor Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley) and an international gang of recruits he sets out his crazy plan, battling setbacks, betrayal and naysayers along the way to finally make his attempt on Aug. 7 1974.

This incredible telling of real life events is a fantastic cinematic achievement and is completely captivating and exhilarating. With a stand-out performance from Gordon-Levitt, you’ll be on the edge of your seat watching Petit walk.
