Review:

Tarantino’s latest film is set in the post American civil war landscape of Wyoming during winter. The plot begins with bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) taking his captive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to Red Rock Town where she will be hanged for her crimes. On the way he picks up an infamous fellow bounty hunter Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson) and Red Rock’s new sheriff Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins). They are soon forced to take shelter from the blizzard at Minnie’s Haberdashery. Here they encounter characters with aliases such as the Mexican, the Little Man and the Cow Puncher. However, it soon becomes clear that the truth about everyone’s identities is not being told, and with a lot of guns, distrustful looks and this being a Tarantino film, soon the guns start going off. This film contains a good blend of typical Tarantino tropes such as comedic one-liners and over the top violence and holds its own well against its predecessor Django.
