Victoria
The main selling point of Victoria is the method it was shot in - a single continuous take in real time - and it’s impressive how well it works. The handheld camera eerily follows our eponymous protagonist after she leaves a club in the early morning in Berlin. She meets a group of guys who invite her to party, but they find themselves having to rob a bank to pay off some gangsters. The acting, pacing and cinematography combine to form an incredibly tense and realistic heist film. Overall the film is incredibly entertaining and is impactful not only for its technical achievement but also for producing a great film by any standards.
