Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
|
This film, set between the third and fourth film, sets up the original trilogy perfectly with pinpoint accuracy, and is everything you can expect and hope for in a Star Wars film. The cinematography is stunning and the plot is surprisingly new and effective, with an outstanding performance from Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, the daughter of the architect of the Death Star. This film does not feel like it was just made to cash in on the success of The Force Awakens, but provides a necessary story that is highly relevant to the franchise as a whole. The 'goodies' are flawed and fanatic and the 'baddies' are nuanced and terrifying. This is not a film to be missed.
