Review:

John Goodman is Bill Randa, a government official desperate to prove that monsters exist. Begging a favour from an old friend, he gets a military escort to accompany him to chart an unexplored island in the Pacific… the mysterious Skull Island.

The cast is strong all-round, and includes Academy Award winner Brie Larson (Room) as war photographer Mason Weaver and Tom Hiddleston (the charismatic villain Loki from the Avenger films) as the tracker, ex-British Special Air Service Captain James Conrad. They are part of the rag-tag team of mercenaries, military and scientists that Randa has scraped together; all blissfully unaware of the perils they’re letting themselves in for…

Unaware that is, until Kong kills half the team as they attempt to land. With strange and deadly creatures lurking around every corner and only two days to make it to the pick-up point, it looks increasingly unlikely that any of them will leave the island alive!

Set during the end of Nixon’s term, this film has a kicking soundtrack from that era with great hits you will know! Full of twists and turns and fantastical beasts like nothing you’ve ever seen before, this is a fun action film that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
