Review:

Captain Jack Sparrow returns in Salazar’s Revenge, on the run from the undead pirate Captain Salazar (played by Javier Bardem, who you may remember as the excellent Bond villain from Skyfall). Jack joins Will Turner’s son Henry Turner (Brendan Thwaites) and the Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a young woman wrongfully accused of witch-craft, to find the Trident of Poseidon in the hopes of stopping Salazar. This wouldn’t be a Pirates movie however if everyone didn’t have their own motives for finding the trident and the film becomes a race of many flags (literally!)

Fans of the franchise will want to see this closing chapter, which brings much of the series’ storylines to a full-circle close, with some surprising revelations and interesting throwbacks. The set pieces, as to be expected from a Pirates movie, are huge and fans will enjoy the return of some of their favourite characters (one of the highlights being yet another fantastic performance from Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa)

Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho!!
