You'll float too.
Derry is a nice quiet, normal little town, except for one thing – all the kids that are going missing…
For some of us, watching Stephen King’s I with Tim Curry was the first time we remember being really disturbed; leaving us with an uneasy and indefinable feeling that took days to shake. The remake had a nigh impossible task of living up it its predecessor – but fortunately, it does! (Even the creator, Stephen King, claimed “I wasn’t prepared for how good it was”)
Bill Skarsgård (the clown), though a relative newcomer, already has multiple movies coming out this year, and has starred alongside Hollywood veterans such as James McAvoy and Charlize Theron. The child actors especially are of the highest calibre. You should recognise Mike (Chosen Jacobs) from the ‘Stranger Things’ series, where his talent was more than proven, and may also recognise Jaeden Lieberher from the film ‘Midnight Special’. Finn Wolfhard provides most of the comedic moments in the film, but none detract from the atmosphere that is crafted slowly and masterfully throughout.
Not trying to simply recreate the previous film (or the book), It has a creepiness entirely its own. For those of you sick of horror films with cheap shock tactics like loud bangs or gore, this will be a treat!
