mother!
Seeing is believing
Darren Aronofsky’s intriguing and captivating religious allegory is a fascinating piece of cinema, with fantastic cinematography and brilliant performances. Jennifer Lawrence plays the eponymous ‘mother’ and follows her story as her husband (Javier Bardem) is cast into fame and chaos when a mysterious stranger comes knocking at their door.
Mother! is a masterful allegory and an intelligent work, but it is also visceral, impacting and captivating to watch. It will most certainly have you thinking long after the end credits finish rolling and definitely requires a second watch to catch the subtleties of Aronofsky’s vision.
This film was one of the most divisive movies of last year, dividing critics so much that some called it the work of a genius, while others called it the worst movie ever. The only way to find out which side you fall on, is to go see it for yourself!
