Review:

Inspired by the true story of the origins of everyone’s favourite hunny-loving bear, Winnie the Pooh.

The author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson – Harry Potter, Star Wars – Last of the Jedi), returns damaged and jaded from the First World War. Seeing such sadness around him, it’s no longer enough to write plays that make people laugh, he wants to write something more meaningful and so he retreats to the country with his wife, nanny and child, to focus on writing. While spending time with his son, Christopher Robin and his toys (a very familiar-looking bear, tiger, piglet and donkey), he gets the idea for a book, and for the Winnie the Pooh characters that have been loved ever since…

Christopher Robin is equal parts naïve, wise, kind and sincere, teaching the adults around him as much as he learns from them. This is due in no small part to Will Tilston, as convincing and ‘natural’ on camera as any adult actor. His honesty and openness are effortlessly charming, and a joy to behold on the big screen.
