Love, Simon
He's done keeping his story straight.
Simon Spier is a typical teenager. He has an amazing group of friends he hangs out with, gets drunk at house parties, all the usual teenage things... However, he has one big secret: he’s gay. And not a single person – not his family, his friends or any of his classmates - know.
When someone posts (anonymously as ‘Blue’) on the school blog that they are in the same situation, Simon feels relieved that there’s someone he can talk to about what he’s going through, and they start conversing through texts and emails. Simon is glad to have someone to confide in and starts falling for Blue, despite not knowing who he is. But when someone leaks their emails, Simon is suddenly ‘outed’ to the entire school…
This is quite a sweet coming-of-age film about friendship, searching for love and finding out who you are. What could feel quite hackneyed, is made fresh by the talent of the young leads, Nick Robinson (Jurassic World), Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) and Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse), and a strong supporting cast, Jennifer Garner (Alias), and Josh Duhamel.
