Review:

One of the most heralded authors, Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer – Up), now synonymous with the crime novel, dies on his 85th birthday, at home surrounded by family. It looks like he took his own life, but suicide just doesn’t sit right with anyone that knew him. Irascible and used to getting his own way, he had somewhat rocky relationships with most of his children and grandchildren (Chris Evans – Avengers, Toni Collette - Hereditary, Michael Shannon – The Shape of Water, Jamie Lee Curtis - Halloween, Don Johnson – Django Unchained). The man was sitting on a vast fortune, but wealth is not the only reason for murder, especially if family’s involved…

Daniel Craig (the Bond franchise) is Benoit Blanc, a famous private investigator hired in a mysterious manner – a news clipping of the author’s death and a hefty wad of cash pushed anonymously through his letterbox. Given permission by the police to assist in their investigations, he soon uncovers infidelity, embezzlement, and many more secrets and lies… Plenty of suspects and plenty of motives for murder!

With a few laughs thrown into the mix, this darkly comic homage to Agatha Christie will keep you guessing whodunnit till the end.
