Another Round
Martin (Madds Mikkelsen - Rogue One / Casino Royale) is a high-school teacher, feeling increasingly morose and disengaged from his job. Feeling an increasing sense that the best part of his life is over, he bemoans his troubles with fellow teachers one evening. However, everything changes when they remember the premise from Norwegian psychiatrist Finn Skårderud that humans were born with an innate alcohol deficiency, and devise a reckless experiment to put this to the test!
By keeping their blood alcohol raised by 0.05% during working hours they will monitor its effects on their personal and professional lives (while keeping this hidden from all their colleagues). The results are increased satisfaction and wellbeing, improved social interaction and connection with their pupils, enhanced creativity and problem-solving. In fact, they find it works so well that they decide the raise the alcohol level and see what happens. However, as their blood alcohol starts rising, they find it hard to stop at the end of the workday, and things soon spiral out of control…
This funny tragicomedy brought home a number of film festival awards, not to mention the performance of a lifetime from Mads Mikkelsen. This is definitely one to watch.
