House of Gucci
A name to die for.
When Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel their legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately...murder.
A wild ride of crime, high fashion and romance, Ridley Scott’s latest film is a tumultuous retelling of the family behind the designer brand Gucci, in the late 20th century, and the consequences of love and jealousy. With a stellar main cast of Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek and Al Pacino there is little not to love about this theatrical and passionate film that delves deep into the dynamics of a fractured family and a tragic love story between Gaga’s Patrizia Reggiani and Driver’s Maurizio Gucci. The choice of music to accompany the film is excellent and the film particularly excels at conveying the young romance between Patrizia and Maurizio. Gaga transforms in her performance, in what will surely be another Oscar best actress nomination as does Driver’s subtle yet genuine portrayal of the man who takes over the helm of Gucci at just 34. The fantastic acting, fascinating story and superb costumes are reasons enough to watch this biographical crime drama.
