Review:

Denzel Washington is Lincoln Rhyme, a Scene of Crime officer for the NYPD who has become paralysed from the neck down.

He believes that his crime fighting days are over and that he has no more to contribute. Combine that with worsening fits he decides to end his suffering.

That is, until he is consulted on a serial killer case. The serial killer is taking his MO (modus operandi) from a gothic book called "The Bone Collector".

You might wonder what use he could be after all he needs to be on at the scene of crime as his job title denotes.

That is where Amelia Donaghy (Jolie) comes in. She is a beat cop who spotted some unusual evidence at a crime scene, showing a natural flair for forensic science.

She becomes his eyes and ears linked by technology, Ryme guides her through the crime scene telling her what to look out for.

The forensic technology used to try to catch this killer is intriguing. The chemistry between Denzel and Angelina's characters is obvious.

Jolie said " I think the greatest sex I have ever had was in this movie because of the way he looked at me. I couldn't touch his bed, it was really weird, it was like his body. The first time I leaned over him it was nerve wracking. I've had many love scene, but I've never had anyone stare at me like that and smell me like that and see me like that." - February 2000 Flicks

There are some gruesome scenes depicted but works well with the storyline. This is the kind of movie where you just sit back and enjoy watching for the fine performance it turns in.

A must see for those who enjoy the crime drama genre.
