Triangle of Sadness

Fresh off its awards success at Cannes, where it won the Palme d’Or, Triangle of Sadness will be cruising into our cinema. Ruben Östlund made a name for himself with crackling, cringing comic dramas of upper-class awkwardness, like Force Majeure, and this is set to take the satirical cake.

Centering once again on a certain section of society, Östlund takes aim at fashion and influencer culture: one young member of whom invites her boyfriend on a fated cruise ship holiday which she has snagged for free. The guests are supplemented by cleaners and the stressed captain (Woody Harrelson) - symbolically, they may well be heading for the rocks. Promising reports of a comedy with real bite.
