Review:

This Film is another end of the world/devil action movie released at a similar time to Stigmata and Dogma. The idea behind this one is that the world will end just before the stroke of midnight on December 31st 1999 (catchy idea).

Arnie plays Cane an ex-cop turned drunken bodyguard, who chases after an assassin who tried to kill his client. The assassin turns out to be a priest mumbling on about how the devil is among us and the world is soon to end, the client is none other than the Devil (Gabriel Byrne) himself.

Twenty years back and a girl Christine York (Robin Turney) was born under the correct star formation by human parents, kidnaped by devil worshipers and betrothed to the Devil, so that she may be the mother to the Anti-Christ. Christine has strange dreams showing her the future and Cane with his police skills beginss to discover what's in store for the world, tries to help her and save the world. The plot follows the three days in the approach to Y2K with Cane regaining his faith in God in the ultimate battle between good evil.

This film like most Arnie films holds on to thin plots about him trying to protect a young woman whose survival is the key to the future (The Terminator and Sequel). The film has some great action scenes and if you like Arnie films or end of the world through the uprise of the Devil then this shouldn't disappoint you.
