Review:

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sees Shuri, Queen Ramonda and the people of Wakanda come to terms with the sudden death of T’Challa, while fighting off the threats of both an underwater nation, led by Namor, and greedy capitalists with Vibranium clearly in their sights. Following the death of Chadwick Boseman, the future of Black Panther was uncertain, yet I feel the film deals with it appropriately.

Of course there’s the usual markings of any MCU film; action packed fight scenes, humour (though done more tastefully in this instalment) and setting up whatever’s next within the universe. However, Shuri’s journey throughout the film is certainly an interesting one and her internal conflict is something we haven’t have seen before in the franchise. Performances from Letitia Wright, and Angela Bassett, especially in her emotional outcry in the throne room, are powerful scenes that make for a poignant cinema experience.
