Review:

There’s definitely something about Mary (Diaz), one of the most popular girls in school that brings out the stalker in every guy she meets. Ted (Stiller) plays a loser in life, a geek. However, his dream comes true when he stands up against Mary’s brother’s bullies and as a result she asks him to the high school prom. Unfortunately, his dream becomes a nightmare when he has an “interesting” accident on prom night, and ends up spending a few weeks in hospital. To add to his pain, Mary and her family move to Florida...

Thirteen years later, Mary is even more beautiful and has a successful medical career. Ted is still in love with Mary, but has lost touch with her completely and so at the insistence of his good friend Dom (Elliott), he hires private detective Healy (Dillon) to try to find her. However, the investigator does more than his set task - he ends up falling for her.

Healy, obsessed and totally in love with Mary, does all he can to win her over, including lying about his own background, and lying to Ted about Mary’s state. To that end, he tells Ted that she has become a mail-order bride, an overweight wheelchair-bound mother of four kids out-of-wedlock. Undeterred, Ted somehow finds himself back in Mary’s life and a fight to win her love ensues.

Nothing will prepare you for the amount of tasteless gags in this romantic comedy; touted as the Farelly brothers best cinematic excursion to date.

There’s Something About Mary is a hilarious film with memorable scenes including canine drug abuse, interesting hair care products and a zipper scene enough to make the male audience groan.
